I just found out that it is technically impossible for a 2 GGL household to use their 6 partner card referrals.

Thus far this year we have gifted 4 and Avios to one additional F&F. We now cannot change the makeup of the F&F account until the middle of next year (despite some members being there for almost 12 months). I have a Gold and silver referral which ceteris paribus will be unusable as I can't add anyone to my F&F list, you can only have one F&F list per household with a maximum of 5 members in total and only change membership once every 6 months.

This means that for a 2 GGL household all the partner cards cannot be used. If there are more than 2 GGLs in the household the problem gets significantly worse.

I hadn't ever thought this through. In essence unless you really need Avios pooling (which I don't with close to a million Avios in my own account) it is insane to have a household account as it neutralises many benefits.

I have complained about the position to GGL but don't hold out much hope. What a way to structure things.
