Just booked 4 nights in a Glasgow HIX for next year using points for the flexibility.
Yes there's not much in it between a Premier Inn and a HIX although the included breakfast always makes me choose the latter unless the former can be booked during their £25 specials....got one last year in Inverness which was tremendous value.

I would never stay in an Ibis again after an awful experience in the Carlisle one. That made it three bad experiences for me when staying in Accor hotels in the UK.
