Unless you can retain it another way, there probably won't be a much cheaper way to get 60 TPs. You may luck out on a £199 CE fare to somewhere, but even 2-3 HBO fares will likely set you back more.
Silver is worth retaining in my opinion, even if you fly infrequently.
