Alitalia on track
Swissair (the Sair group) has just dropped out of the race for an Alliance with Alitalia, therefore the door is wide open for Air France to either make an alliance or take a stake in the carrier. This would mean Alitalia joining the Skyteam alliance by mid 2001.
