Comment? Complaint? Or both?

I just got off a DL flight ATL-DXB.

I had the best seat in Y on the 777, which is 29A Bulkhead EC.

The IFE technically "worked."...but the arm that holds the screen was way too loose and it wouldn't actually stay up on its own so I could watch anything.

Once airborne, I mentioned this to one of the FAs; she kindly told me that she would be more than happy to move me to another seat--however, that seat would be a middle seat back in Y, not in EC. I told her that was very kind of her and that although I appreciated it I would just stay here in my comfy seat.

She came back with one of the lead FAs and after seeing me hold up the screen with my knee (it wasn't uncomfortable), they suggested that they could tape it. I laughed because I didn't understand the concept as there weren't two secure places to tape together!

Well, the lead FA was able to get this:

So it worked...and stayed. I just had to leave it out the entire flight even when I took a nap (13+hr flight).

I went to the back of the plane after dinner and chatted with the awesome FAs--much of the cabin crew were a fill-in and hadn't ever been on this route as the normal FAs usually get time off during the holidays. They were terrific and so friendly.

I gave the first gal and the Lead each a JWD, for which they were both very surprised and thankful. They told me maintenance would get the IFE arm fixed before the next flight and they were glad I wasn't upset.

So...do I write DL to complain about the IFE arm being broken? Or do I write to compliment the awesome FAs they had who took care of me?
