It's not quite that simple. The Netherlands massively relaxed the rules but then tightened them as the locals got concerned about "muslim" immigration. I can't quite remember the whole set of exceptions and preconditions nowadays, but it's very possible to have a Dutch passport and various others - so long as you avoid the various traps domestic law now sets (An NL passport is one of my three).
