Visa, MasterCard to Face Antitrust Claims
A federal judge has refused to dismiss antitrust claims against MasterCard International and Visa alleging they conspired to hide fees charged to consumers who make overseas purchases.
U.S. District Judge William Pauley, in a ruling dated last Thursday, denied motions aimed at throwing out claims that the defendants violated antitrust laws by allegedly failing to disclose the imposition of currency exchange fees applied to overseas charges.
