It is more than I would have thought, even in this forum with its sometimes warped view of frequent flying. I do agree with others that if BA had wanted to be fair here, they should have given members until the end of their current BAEC year.
But, if it was BA's intention was to reduce the number of people getting to GGL after April 2015, it certainly seems that it will work in that respect.
I am one of those affected by this change. I actually received a customised Hilliergram pointing out that this affects me directly. It says
"As you are a Gold Member who earned over 3,000 Tier Points in your last Tier Point collection year, we understand this change may affect you. So if you reach 3,000 Tier Points before 8th April 2015 you will still achieve Gold Guest List."
I agree that this is unfair - it would have been good to have the deadline extended until the end of my current membership year (which I would have). But it's their game and their rules, I can only vote with my feet.
