The new QF/BA lounge has one very compelling advantage in that it is right next to the gate BA departs from. All the CX lounges are a fair distance from the likely departure gate and will be more inconvenient in case of a delay. It is also a very pleasant space but I agree that the food is a lot less interesting.
Do remember that as you leave the wing, if you keep next to the back wall of the airside part of the airport there's a corridor that cuts underneath the escalators, so you save a good deal of shoe leather and avoid the shops to the way to the BA gates.
