You might consider the ebags brand EXO 2.0 line, check ebags.com for description and videos. I own a number of items from their TLS and eTech lines, also their packing cubes and padded pouches. I've never been disappointed in any of their own branded products.
When I went to the Samsonite store, the guy working there told me that in the last few years, he's watched Samsonite introduce new revisions, improvements, and changes but has kept the price the same. He remembers when the price used to go up, but I think Samsonite has figured out you can't keep doing that.
I'll have to check out the EXO line at ebags. Do they ever go on sale?

I like the lighter weight as well as the reinforcements. However I am not sure about the thinner looking handle posts compare to other brands
I'll have to look at those handles again. Although most handles are now used just to move the bag vs carry it, so I'd rather see better wheel and stronger guide handle.
