How are Accor hotels for getting "walked?"

i'm assuming that the term "getting walked" is used here in this forum as well but i couldn't find any threads using the term to mean what happens when you show up at a hotel for which you have a reservation and they have no more rooms and must "walk" you to another hotel.

specifically, i have booked a room at the mercure berlin tegel airport through getaroom.com. i would have much rather booked directly through accor but the rates are almost double. i got a room that includes breakfast and is cancelable until a couple of days before arrival for USD 92 all in and the same conditions are about 170 on accorhotels.com. a non-flexible res without breakfast is still 126. i tried to do a price match but of course you can guess how that turned out.

back to the main question, i've never ever booked through a third-party OTA and i'm worried that i will get walked from the hotel or even that they won't recognize the reservation when i get there. i like having contingency plans for when i travel so i'm trying to find out how to prepare.

i would be extremely appreciative of anyone sharing their experiences with any of the following; booking accor hotels through getaroom or any other OTA, getting walked because the hotel is oversold, arriving to a non-existent reservation, anything to do specifically with the mercure at berlin tegel.
