So you want to do a world-wide pub crawl with an occasional outing to the country? I wouldn't focus too much on the merits or issues with any one place in a country, like Dar Salaam, or Nairobi for that matter. Try to get away from the big cities; you probably have big cities back home. Every big city seems to want to try and "be" something, and that something is becoming one big polyglop. Best food, best wine, best shows. People worldwide are migrating to the big cities. Spend time in the "middle" to see what's different. Just my 2 cents.
