If you do want to DIY, there's no need to go into London to get to Windsor. There are luggage storage facilities in every terminal, and several buses to both Windsor and Eton direct from Terminal 5, taking about 45 minutes. A taxi would take about 20 minutes, but as it's outside London, you'd have to negotiate a fare, or pre-book one to pick up from Windsor (around £20 each way).
