I think I am most troubled about losing the benefits from the Barclay's MasterCard. Specifically, the ability to earn 10,000 PQM's and the companion tickets. I am also troubled about not be able to buy up to Chairman's since I will finish with just above 75,000 PQM's.
What about you? Is there a particular benefit that you grew attached to that will no longer be with us?
If you're able to convert to the new silver card you can still get 10,000 EQM's (5k after $20k & 10k after $40k in spend), 2 $99 companion certs after $30k in spend, and 3x points on all AA/US purchases. Threads on this and covered by TPG, Lucky, other bloggers. Could be worse...but a high spend for some perks (in line with Citi). Currently stackable with Citi card for now on EQM's if a TON of spend on a so-so card is important for status.
I will miss easy upgrades to F as a lowly Silver and a fun award travel chart which I've just learned. The whole "constructed fare" on AA seems like a bunch of nonsense...but at least one way fares award travel opens up!
