In general I think this is true. However, in addition to the above, I know the GM card earns 5% GM dollars on 1st 2 transfers within 60 days of opening account. This is a must for anyone buying a new GM car as I am. After transferring $30k, I'll get $1500 back on my Suburban and I still get my miles.
