Had a self-upgrader on a flight to JFK a few weeks ago. I was in 64A and soon someone comes upstairs with a rucksack and plonks himself into 64B. Within 15 seconds CC wishes him a good afternoon and 'could I please see your boarding pass?' "Sir this is for our economy cabin on the ground floor of this aircraft; let me escort you there please..."
