In my case, it took about 2 months for the refund to hit. I converted my regular card to the World Elite, and mentioned to the Citi rep that I already had the AAdmiral membership. He made a note of this. One month latter I called again, and was told that the pro-rated refund was in the process and would appear on my next statement.
