Flying back from JFK yesterday the IFE was not working properly and so we only had one looped video stream showing whatever the crew chose and the moving map. Given I was planning on watching a couple of episodes of something before bedding down for the night this was pretty frustrating.
What the crew did: an announcement was made, apologising, explaining the facts clearly and saying what the crew would do. Any persons I noted complaining on board had the CSD attend almost immediately to further apologise. Given the situation they could have done no more.
What CR did on my complaint: responded within about 3 business hours. Explained the issue, apologised and said how they were trying to fix it going forward. Also got some Avios. Again, nothing more they could do.
I'm posting this because a lot of threads are doom and gloom but in this instance BA had a technical issue which can happen to anyone and resolved it as best they could. Well done!
