Smile Live report: T5 this morning

I have no status (Blue) and travelling Y so this is the experience...

Arrived at bag drop at 0715, zero queue, no barriers. Took me 60 seconds. Displays showing North 5, South 2.

Headed for conformance at South, straight through, although I did notice staff enforcing the two bag rule.

Into security itself, as previously advised on here, went for position 7 with the new tray loading layout. Five people in front of me, and extra staff telling passengers exactly what they needed to do (laptops out, belts and boots off and so on).

This layout seemed to be working well – there were people loading trays on both sides in all 4 positions. Only had a short wait before a position came free, dumped bag (with cables etc.) in one tray along with belt, watch, phones and change, and laptop and iPad in the other.

Only wrinkle I could see was that I had a short wait to find a free space on the belt as there were trays coming from my right (I was in position 2 of 4), but again very brief.

Entered security at 0720, was out by 0725. No issues and they got a smiley-face-press from me.

Summary: no problems at all
