People are so misinformed thanks to those jerks on YouTube walking around with a PayPass reader claiming to read people's cards. Thankfully Apple Pay and the like hopefully will have people do a 360 on the idea of contactless. I see it growing more than ever now. Thank. God.
I have an EMV reader on my phone. I basically had to put my DC card right on the phone in order for it to get read. That attack is definitely unlikely, but some posters did have a point about merchants taking cards from them and tapping without being able to verify the amount first.
