After booking a reservation at the Hilton Bonnet Creek earlier today, I noticed an option to request an estandby upgrade from a standard king room to a Deluxe Waldorf Astoria room. I've never heard of upgrades being done between hotels before. How does that work? If you go to the front desk at the Hilton to check in and your upgrade is approved, do they just send you over to the WA to check in there? Do you become a guest of the WA or you're still a guest of the Hilton but just have a room at the WA?

I booked a bed-and-breakfast package. If the upgrade gets approved, do I keep the package?
