Just a comment on the 10% fare on lap infants: if you book an award flying partners, it's their rule that prevails. I booked an award with TAP, and UA
charged me 25% of the fare. I rebooked flying Air Canada, and was charged only taxes as they don't charge for lap infants apparently.
And one more thing, UAs site won't include the lap infant cost at the time of ticketing if you fly some partners ( like TAP). You will receive the " surprise" some days later on your CC.
Well it is "their fare" if you book with MP. So that doesn't sound irregular to me.
