Domestic air travel in Japan is nothing like elsewhere in the world. It is easy, fast, and efficient. There are almost never any long lines. Even at HND, where there are lots of packed widebodies and thousands of people traveling every day, the lines always seem to be short and you never have to wait for anything.
Not sure if the shinkansen has anything to do with this. (Competition is fierce)
It is quite amazing that the lines were almost never long, and airport authorities are still putting in priority lanes, now not just one priority lane, some airports even got 2 types of priority lane (Diamond/Premier & Fast Security for JGCs)
If BA was this good, I guess no one wants to take Euro*, Euro* was on news again yesterday, after power cable snapped, leaving passengers with no power and water for 9 hours

In dramas, when lines get long, you would find check-in agents asking "Flight XXXX to OOO is about to depart, passengers for this flight please let us know...", they will then bring you to the front of the queue

Can anyone confirm this is true in the reality?
If this is indeed the case, I guess you can still arrive at the counter at T-15minutes, beat the 40 minutes queue and board the flight on time
