Ive seen EXPs request 2 months out and travel in Y.
AA lowers J fares around holidays when they know less business flyers will be buying. Right now LAX-LHR round trip is ~2993 Dec 15 to Jan 3. I seem to recall it was around 4k for thanksgiving.
They DO know how to turn seats into $$$....
