There are a number of threads with discussion in the India Based Airlines forum. One interesting comparison is in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/india...t-ewr-bom.html, which points out that the EWR-BOM route on Jet is actually EWR-BRU-BOM.

I personally ruled out the 9W option when I saw that I wouldn't earn PQM.
