Hi, UA mileage experts.

I recently try to book 2 tickets for my friend and me with my UA mileage award. However, my points are not enough for two round-trip. So I plan to order one by award while another by cash.

With search based on award, I see a flight well fit to my travel plan. However, I cannot find the same flight when doing normal search. How could this happen? Shouldn't UA provide award ticket only if the normal ticket is also available? Otherwise they lose revenue.

Please advice what I can do. It seems hard to book one ticket by award and another by cash.
