I ask because I've spend the last year getting a handful of cards that maximize point bonus categories and nearly all of my purchases are earning more than 1 point per dollar, I'd hate to divert earning on those bonuses towards something that only earned 1 point per dollar if I didn't have to.
I know that an exact answer to my question is unlikely, but I wanted to hear your opinions and personal experiences. Thank you!
I am always of the opinion that you should mix in other transactions other than just Amex Serve on your CC. I don't know why you are complicating your life by using a separate Citi/Chase card to do $1K Serve loads. Why not just use one of your various existing CCs to do the Serve loads? Is this a new Chase/Citi CC that you are trying to meet min spend? Right now Citi Visas aren't friendly to Serve loads so its not really an option according to the wiki. Read the wiki to see the list of cards which are good and not good for Serve loads.
