She on an Flex fare (H). The flight is today, so there is no issue with the upgrade window.
I now see that the Flex fares for this flight currently on sale are M fares.
So perhaps they will confirm immediately for an M fare but will waitlist an H fare. I wasn't aware of the current level of granularity of day-of-flight upgrade availability. And/or there is some glitch in the system.
It might help to know the flight number so we can look up stats.
I've asked her if I can divulge her travel plans to the entire world but she hasn't gotten back to me on that yet.
