Ok it could very well be hotel status with me. I'm not a very frequent traveler and I book my rooms based on proximity to whatever I'm doing in that city combined with how good of a price I can get on a higher end hotel. This means I'm definitely not at the same company's hotels enough to have anything much of a hotel status. I'm usually at the most basic level.


I've used both Priceline and Hotwire twice so far and I definitely think they try to give those bookers the worst rooms so I only do it when I really need to save every dollar.

I guess there isn't anything I can do about my hotel status since I stay at all different brands and don't travel enough to build my level to much anyway.


Thanks everyone! I guess I'll make my Vegas reservation using the AAA promo since it will save me almost $100 and MGM is overcharging because of the holiday that week.
