I usually fly AA and keep everything with OW, but I have friend who needs some advice on making it easier on his wallet to see his son more often. He is divorced, mother and son live in Tampa. He lives in El Paso. He is allowed to see his son every other Christmas and other holidays and he comes for a month at a time to El Paso in June/July.

Being that his son is 3 yrs old, he cannot fly by himself yet. So, my friend has to take out a RT ticket for the mom and 2 one ways for the son. It adds up pretty quick. He does not travel very often but has high monthly spend thru his personal and business expenses.

How does the RR program work with award tickets? Even if he gets ONE free ticket every time, he will be satisfied.

Any advice for him?
