I had 3 separate reservations for different cars with hertz, all with the same pickup date & time. The night before pickup (i.e. well past midnight, so essentially same day) all 3 reservations were there, but later in the morning (with abt 2 hrs to go before the booked pickup time) when I wanted to cancel the reservations myself I found that 2 of the 3 reservations were cancelled by hertz without my knowledge (i.e. no notification at all, no cancellation emails were received so far). Now, is this standard hertz practice & by what rationale do they choose to cancel which particular booking and leaving the remaining one valid?
