The PANYNJ just isn't going to spend the money on an interconnected airside.
There's no such thing as a "Global Entry Lane" at security. There are PreCheck lanes at all checkpoints that can physically support them.
And unless you can come up with a device that can shift air traffic temporarily out of phase, there's no easy fix for EWR's capacity issues.

Back on topic - for breakfast, I like Balducci's (main airside corridor between the C1 & C2 checkpoints - rarely as crowded as Starbucks, and good food options.
