A friend of mine tipped me off to this deal, so today I stopped by my local Fry's and picked up two for $40 plus tax.

I found this WSJ online review to be helpful; since we (my family) has a few trips on the horizon, I decided to give it a try. Any of you have experience using PlayOn/PlayLater, or these HP Pocket Playlists?

I've watched rented iTunes movies on my iPhone and MacBook Pro while flying, but unfortunately I find it's slim pickins when it comes to rentable movies & TV on iTunes. So I was thinking to maybe record some NetFlix or Amazon stuff and stream it via the HP thingamajig, though I am still thinking this device borders on a solution in search of a problem. But two for $40 is less than what I pay for a tank of gas these days, so what the hey.
