Air Berlin's
T&Cs do not prohibit the use of topbonus status privileges when earning on any other partner FFP. In fact, I have never heard of any FFP expressly requiring that miles are earned in that programme for all flights for which its status privileges are used.
Someone posted a quote in one of the threads in the combined AA/US forum (or one of the specific AA/US ones). I can't recall the thread so can't re-quote it.
Why would any FF program encourage you to use their benefits when crediting to another program? Benefits are tied to the program right? So why give benefits to a diff FF number which is not entitled to those? Not talking about OneWorld benefits, but program specific benefits. An AA EXP cannot use a US FF number and expect to be upgraded based on their EXP status they are not 'using'.
