Didn't come up in a search of prior threads as far as I can tell but wanted to warn folks to be very careful booking swiss flights on United site. They apparently don't have "seamless reservations" according to the agent I spoke with after they blew up my reservation. Basically booked a Swiss flight on United.com and all notices popped up on screen as normal saying I was all set. Shortly thereafter an email.

Shut computer down and went to sleep and work to find an email from united saying they would confirm the reservation in 24 hours and low and behold, they emailed in the morning to say the fare was gone.

Called united and they indicated that there was nothing they can do and that "you shouldn't book Swiss flights on united.com" and instead go to the partner airline's site directly. Fares were available on both sites at the time when I booked on united, which I did because I figured it was easier to do from there where all my info was already pre-loaded etc.

So, cost me some $ I would rather not have spent and learned a painful lesson about both United's IT capabilities and their customer service. Not sure if other partner airlines also have this issue but go directly to Swiss website or an OTA if you want too book rather than United.com.
