Did a search, and this was somewhat related.
I just made Platinum for the first time. I'm an American citizen living in Europe, and most of my flying is back to the states a half dozen times a year. I'm trying to figure out the best choice benefit to choose in my case...
-4 regional upgrade certificates: Given that these won't work for a Business Elite upgrade on the transatlantic portion of my travel, and that most of my connecting destinations are relatively short legs, I'm thinking that these aren't worth it. If they were global upgrade certificates, I'd be all over them.
- Global Entry voucher: Already have Global Entry, paid for by my Platinum AMEX.
- 20,000 bonus RQMs: This might actually have some value, albeit relatively little. My thinking is that since RQMs will be much harder to come by based on the type of fares I purchase, 20k RQMs will actually be slightly more valuable as we go into the future.
- Gifting Silver Medallion Status: My wife is already a Silver, and I don't really know anyone else who travels on DL enough to warrant the gifting of silver to. Is it possible to sell it to some rando? If so, what would you value a year's worth of Silver Medallion status as? A couple hundred bucks? If more, perhaps getting this and putting it on eBay is an option.
- 4 Delta Sky Club 1-day passes: Worthless to me. My wife and I already have DL Reserve AMEX cards that get us into the clubs. I suppose I could sell them, but given that it's only $29 to get in anyway, I'd only get a max of about $100 for all four. No thanks.
- $200 Delta gift card/ $200 Tiffany gift card: DL gift card might be the best overall choice. The Tiffany gift card would be nice, but that just means I'm going to spend lots of $$$ on top of the gift card to actually get my wife something. She'll be just fine without it...
I'd be interested to hear your comments. Am I missing anything?
