I flew Maui-Dallas two weeks ago on a reconfigured one (see my posts on this same thread) but I'm pretty sure it was due to equipment swap. I was hoping somebody would tell us what this was all about because I was curious if perhaps they would be using it for this route more often. Based on what I heard at the airport that day and how clueless the crew was about the new config, I highly doubt this was anything more than just a one time deal.
I am having a look at getting to Maui again and transiting at DFW looks like changing onto a 763 whereas LAX-OGG is still a 752. The only problem with the DFW route is that it is way more expensive.
