Thank you all for the help, ended up booking direct for tomorrow ATL-MSY (P) seats and will try and complete a run before the end of the year.

As mentioned flying out of a different AP is rough due to expense report reasons, however numerous segments in the middle are not hard to get by. Ultimately that is a blessing and a curse flying out of ATL.
