I had a situation where, due to total idiocy on my part a colleague and I missed a flight from SFO to BZN, and therefore had our flights from BZN to ORD cancelled for the day after. The adjusted schedule on offer meant we'd miss meetings. We decided that because I was President's Circle that we could do it by car and then still make our flight from ORD to SFO a few days later. The one way fee was really high, so we asked about driving back from ORD to SFO (an ORD-ORD rental over 7 days) and were told that we'd be driving an excessive number of miles and would probably be blacklisted. I asked where the cutoff was for "excessive mileage" and they said it is at the discretion of the location manager!
In the end we improvised, got to BZN on time and booked new flights BZN-ORD.
