I'm doing a MR (to retain my status tier) so I'm doing a round trip on Air China (PEK-FRA-PEK) that's arriving T1 at FRA and leaving two hours later on the same airplane (so I'm flying back in the same plane I flew in on).

I don't think I can be issued a "connecting" flight boarding pass in PEK, so assuming I arrive without a boarding pass, how do I connect in this case? My flight is suppose to arrive in at 5:15 pm and the return flight is at 7:15 pm. Two hours should be enough for a connection, but I was minimize time wasted. I want some time to take a shower and freshen up if possible. I think I'm pretty much guaranteed around a two hour connection since if my arriving flight is late, my connecting flight will get delayed accordingly.

On the FRA website, it states that the transit desk is closed between 10 am and 6 pm, so that's of no use (unless the website is wrong?); based on info here, I can get my onward boarding pass at the gate; can I disembark the aircraft and immediately get my new boarding pass from the gate? Sorry I've never been in FRA, so I don't know the layout of the terminal. Or do I have to go to a transit point? If I need to go to the transit point, how do I proceed if the transit counter is closed and I don't have my return boarding pass? I believe it's usually an hour before the flight that I have to check in.

What I want to avoid is having to enter Germany to go the check-in counters outside, but I can do this if it's necessary (I have an US passport).

The flights are CA 931 and CA 932.
