Thanks for posting this. Even c-w-s learned something new and he's probably in LHR more than some staff. In my case it's made me realise that if I hear any unusual noises I should look around see if any alarm lights are flashing.

You've also identified a need where extra training is needed for airport staff. If I'd noticed an alarm going off I would have thought pointing it out to a HAL staff member would have been sufficient, but sounds like not all of them would know what to do.
