That's why the machines are at every station, it only takes a few minutes to buy a ticket. Other forms of tickets don't really fit this (unmanned) approach, that's probably why they don't promote online tickets for domestic tickets.
It's true they've been trying to restrict access to the tracks. But those gates they put up two years ago still have yet to be activated. Who knows when?
I'm old school and still buy paper tickets from the machine.
