Spending annually more than $25,000 on Hilton hotels both personally and from my company, I do care about the benefits I receive.
People thinking that this is a first world problem, or that I complain about nothing, well if you don't care how you are treated as a customer by Hilton, then fine. If you will just stand and smile to a FD employee who tells you that "the hotel is sold out" while you can see plenty of available rooms, then go ahead and do that. And let the rest of us get some nice upgrades
Anyway, great input. Seems that there is confusion about what "space available upgrade" is. Will try to push for it if/when I experience something like this again. On my business travel I could care less if I am upgraded or not. But on a vacation with my GF it does mean something to be upgraded.
