This is my first post on this forumn and before loading you all with questions I thought best to say, Hi!
I am a british expat who now lives in Moscow. I started there this september and am now trying to figure out what the best way for me to aquire points and loyalty status.
I hope to learn and advise throught this site as I spend far too much time on planes and in hotels. Unfortunately im currently a newbee to most of this so as standard, the first post is more questions than answers...
(1) What is most important to you in a FFP?
(upgrades on travel, priority services when flying the airline, extra baggage allowance, good award redemption rates, better award access, free - discounted lounge access, etc.)

In order of pref) Lounge access, baggage allowance, redemtion schemes, benefits across all FFP, miles aquisition
(2) How many miles do you usually fly each year & in what class? How many flights/sectors?
(<25000, 25000-50000, >50000 miles - <25, 25-50, >50 flights?)
Reply:>40000 miles, 25-50 flights
(3) What types of fares do you usually buy?
(First, Business, Premium economy, Economy, cheapest)
Reply: Economy (Seldom PE)
(4) Can you choose your airlines and/or class of service? Do you travel for work and/or pleasure?
Reply: Mostly work, some pleasure. I can choose the arilines and routes
(5) Which routes and airlines do you fly most often?
(US Domestic, Transpacific, Kangaroo, in Asia etc)
Reply: Mostly S7, British Airways, other one world - European, Central Asia, Asia. Mostly international, Domestic Russia, 1 transatlantic return per year
(6) What is your home airport?
(SFO, SCL, London LHR, HKG, Singapore SIN etc.)
Reply: Domodedovo, Vrukovo, Sheremetovo (Moscow Airports)
(7) Do you have FFP status of any kind in OW or other airline? What is it? Do you have any miles banked in a FFP?
(AA Executive Platinum, QF Gold, UA 1K, LAN Comodoro, etc)
Reply: Silver Cathay, Gold Star Alliance + many gold/platinum hotel cards
(8) Preferred Airlines? Most common Airlines flown on?
Reply: One world partners
I hope to redeme the points for international flights to Asia (Thailand, HKK, SGP, etc). If possible the status aquired should also allow for benefits when flying with Cathay Pacific (lounge, business check in, etc). The points can be aquired through any one world alliance member although most flights will be taken with S7 or BA.
If there is anyting else I can add to make it easyer to work out please let me know. I am also very open to learning how you work all this out so any hints or tips would be read and studied!
