Good advice Kalboz, didn't know about the 3 night rule for upgrades.
So I've booked the Ren first 3 nights and I'll see how they treat me. During my stay I'll find out room and rates if I extend 3 more nights. On checkout day I'll go down the street to the JWM and see what they will do for me....if I understand the conditions on my res correctly I have till 6 pm day of to cancel. It's a Sunday so I'll have the leisure time to play this out.
