I just flew YVR-YYZ on AC142 and equipment was a 777HD. I was disappointed, particularly by being trapped in the window seat.

However, I noticed that the even rows only had one seat in the outside rows whereas the odd seats had two seats.

On KVS, the even rows are listed as preferred in J and the odd rows are not.

Does anyone know the rationale for this alternative pattern?
