As a nation we may not excel at languages, but we must be top of the multi-metrological league!
It's even worse in the agricultural sector. We still buy and sell in guineas, use furlongs, perches and rods (not just for chickens too), weigh sheep in metric, size them in imperial and do all land registration stuff in hectares - yet very few farmers can think "hectare".
