Its actually a bit MORE confusing than using regular google. They are really trying to "activity stream" "daily feed" your email, and frankly that isn't the way email works for me. My mind works better and faster than googles algorithms.
There is also a LOT of eye candy, images, thumbnails, icons, etc that load and are un-necessary. If you're on any sort of limited or restricted data plan, this is going to suck up a lot more data.
I'm back to the regular gmail at this point, which has been updated for things like yahoo mail and outlook integration. For me at least it's a much better solution.
This is very similar to what I felt after using it for a few days. However I still have it installed it on my phone and use it specifically to snooze emails and to be reminded of them at the right time when I can actually take action on them. That is a great feature in my opinion.
The stock Gmail app with other email integration is now fantastic and so convenient.
