I think that Diamonds and CCs should worry less about the challenge "leechers" and more about the insider "leechers". Case in point, I tried and tried to use DSUs at the aforementioned HR Waikiki last year during Spring Break, and couldn't make any headway. On my first night at the property, I had dinner with the CEO of an Asian airline and mentioned in passing that I had been unable to get a suite at the Hyatt.
Miraculously, when we got back to the hotel after dinner, the manager had left a message on our door saying that they had moved us to a suite. He told me that it was a comp upgrade and that I wouldn't need to use any DSUs. I saw my friend a couple of days later and asked him how he had been able to got me a suite---He just smiled and said nothing.
I'm guessing that this sort of thing goes on a lot more than we all suspect.
