If they are going to do the spend caps, stop handing our 1K status to corporate customers low frequency fliers. I know it is their sandbox, but I've sat next to more than a few 1Ks that aren't 'real'.

I think UA hates 1Ks. We are the guys who buy a lot of flights, but purchase economy tickets. If we bought F/J we would be GS's. I think they look at us and think of us a cheapskates that should be buying business tickets. Believe me, I try to tell my employer the same thing every year at this time when budgets get set. It just isn't out there for a lot of companies.

As an aside, it is never a good thing to remind people how much they are paying in total or per unit for something. They are trying to fight commodization when all they seem to care about is price...

The last statement had me at about $0.19 per for 62k miles. Yes, I do two BOM flights (one left per year) in Y and that gets my miles up for only about $1500 or even less in real spend. The flip side is that with out these flights, my spend per mile would be really higher.

To be perfectly honest, I'd be fine with 20k spend for 1Ks. I can manage that pretty easily and it would help to separate the rock stars from the groupies.
